Internet connectivity, competitively priced smartphones and high social media usage are driving the evolution of the digital economy in Southeast Asian markets. As a result we are witnessing a spike in borderless, home-grown ecommerce businesses across the sub region. An increasing number of female entrepreneurs are responding to this evolution by seizing opportunities to create new businesses – enabled by technology and fuelled by smart innovation and passionate ambition. We hope that the Dentsu Aegis Network Female Foundry Accelerator Programme will open a door for more female entrepreneurs in South and Southeast Asia to succeed in the businesses they are building. We hope access to tools, processes, information and possibilities will accelerate their path to success. We believe the networks we can make available and the mentors we will provide access to will be an important bridge. We are committed to taking a first round of women through to pitch for funding, armed with skills from the programme and guided by their mentors. An establishing network of female entrepreneurs from across Dentsu Aegis Network, influential, industry experts and business strategists, will form the centre of the faculty, ensuring our ambition to encourage diversity and sustainability across local economies remains a primary attribute for success of the programme. For the brands we serve, we hope to uncover new and innovative insights that may inform development roadmaps, and for the people across our network, we hope to instil the need to become more supportive advocates for women across all of our communities. |
